Our people once inhabited a vast area around Gichigami and throughout what is today Ontario and Minnesota. Our relatives lived among the spirits of this world and throughout the forests, rivers, and lakes of our territory. Today, we live, hunt, fish, and gather in the same territory as our ancestors.

Today, we are a thriving close-knit community. Our Tribal Programs address the security, health, and wellness of band members and the community as a whole. We seek to protect and enhance our lands through comprehensive natural resource management. We are proud of our supporting enterprises, including the Grand Portage Lodge & Casino, Hollow Rock Resort, the Grand Portage Marina, and the Grand Portage Trading Post. Our enterprises support Tribal government operations, Reservation infrastructure, and community programs.
