Grand Portage Emergency Food Support Guidelines

Please review the following guidelines before submitting your application.

The Grand Portage Reservation Tribal Council will provide one-time emergency food assistance to eligible Band members suffering from loss of SNAP benefits due to the United States Government Shut Down.
Emergency assistance provided under this Program is NOT available to all Band members. Eligibility for assistance is limited to those who are eligible for SNAP.
Eligibility: All households in which an enrolled Band member, eligible for SNAP reside. 
Application Requirements: All adult Band members requesting emergency financial assistance under the Program must submit a completed application. As part of the application, members must:
• provide basic demographic information, including full name, mailing address, and enrollment number;
• provide documentation that you are eligible for SNAP;
Application Submission. A printable application can be found here. Applications may be submitted by emailing them to foodsupport@grandportage.com, or by completing the form below.
Amount of Emergency Food Assistance. Applicants who meet Program requirements are eligible to receive up to $150 in emergency food assistance to be used within 60 days, by December 31, 2025.
Eligible Uses. Band members who receive emergency food assistance must use the funds before December 31, 2025.
Timeline for Processing Assistance. Applications will be processed in the order they are received.
